Growing up in Sydney,  Eliza was always passionate about sport, in both a playing and coaching capacity. She  played and umpired netball for 15 years and coached youth teams whilst at high school. Eliza enjoyed rowing at school and competed at State and National Championships. She also spent many of her junior years swimming.

While at school, amongst other sporting injuries, Eliza fractured her pelvis in a horse-riding accident. She subsequently spent  many hours in rehabilitation, giving her firsthand insight into the impact physiotherapists can have, ultimately inspiring her to pursue a career in physiotherapy. Eliza also developed a lasting curiosity with human movement and the body's ability to recover. She quickly discovered that what she loved most about physiotherapy was not only solving complex movement problems but also working alongside people to help them regain confidence, function and independence.

Thus, Eliza moved to Orange in 2018 to study Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University, and has been lucky to call Bathurst home for the past 8 years.

Although Eliza didn't realise it at the time, her own rehabilitation marked the beginning of an interest in the pelvis and the role it plays in movement, function and recovery. That interest grew during her clinical Pilates training and has since been strengthened through her work as a physiotherapist and her own journey into motherhood.

Becoming a mother of two gave Eliza a deeper appreciation of the importance of pelvic health. Through her own experience of pregnancy and postpartum in a regional setting, she recognised that many women navigate this stage of life with very little education or support. This has inspired her to pursue further training, undertaking a Master of Physiotherapy (Pelvic Health) through the University of Melbourne. Eliza is passionate about improving access and awareness of pelvic health services within regional communities, with particular interest in birth education, reducing preventable birth trauma and helping women return confidently to the activities they love after childbirth and then supporting women through their menopausal transition.

When not at work, Eliza enjoys spending time with her husband, their two young children and their Labrador, Krash and visiting family in Sydney and the Hunter Valley.
